OUR STORY
1946
Our story begins in 1946. The Club Diner started out on wheels and was horse-drawn to local businesses and factories in the area. The original building was a railroad Ward & Dickinson club cart that was repurposed into a diner by Ralph and Edna Weed.
1972
In 1972, a second-hand diner from Hazelton, Pennsylvania was purchased. The diner was towed back to Bellmawr New Jersey. The diner sat right along the sidewalk that runs parallel to the Black Horse Pike.
1972 marked a new beginning for Club Diner. As the original club car was replaced, a new restaurant was built with the roots and history. The same family owned the establishment and progressed to a brighter future with the new Diner. Three generations of the Weeds family worked at the diner over the next half a century. Club Diner originated from a old train car building, later sold and moved to Paulsboro New Jersey. Club Diner stood with its traditional chrome and pink neon roof sign. The establishment had the theme of stainless steel with chrome. The diner stood as a jewel of 1960-era exaggerated modernity. The new building remained from 1964 till the rebirth of 2006.
2006
In the fall of 2006, new renovations began. Club Diner was reborn to celebrate its 60th anniversary. The diner expanded in seating capacity, the decor was refreshed and a new menu was added. This began with the help of Bob Pantelous, the establishment's new owner in 2000. The Weed family transferred ownership to a great friend, continuing the legacy of Club Diner. The restaurant stands today with a "red room" and "blue room." The red room showcases the diner's original size and the blue room is the new expansion for the restaurant's new dining experience.
2020
In 2020, we celebrated a huge mile stone, celebrating 20 years of ownership with Bob Pantelous.
